Black History Month
Breaking the Chains
Class 8a produces a podcast about the Civil Rights Movement
On the occasion of Black History Month class 8a worked on a podcast project about the Civil Rights Movement to talk about the importance of African American history.
Black History Month is a time to celebrate and recognize the achievements, struggles, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It’s not just about the past – it’s about understanding how History of African Americans continues to shape our world today.
As part of our class project, we created a podcast series focused on different aspects of African American History. Each group in our class chose a specific topic, researched it, and then recorded a podcast episode to share what they learned.

We explored stories of resilience, leadership, and change – showing how African American history is deeply connected to the world we live in today. The goal of this project was to explain the students at the Hans-Carossa-Gymnasium about the challenges African Americans have faced and must still put up with specifically in America.
We decided to name our podcast “Breaking the Chains” because that name represents the fight against racism, unfairness, and inequality. It stands for strength, determination, and the success of African American communities in overcoming challenges. And now, we’re excited to present our podcast episodes
